#1 Post by Steve Terrien »

Looking for recommendations for 6volt fuel pump. Napa was recomended but they do not carry 6 v. Is Bendix still making them? Any thoughts would be great!

Why not buy parts from the recognized & reliable 356 ven

#4 Post by Barry Brisco »

Okay, I'm just going to come right out and say it:

Why not buy parts from the recognized and reliable 356 vendors like Zim's, NLA/Stoddards, and others? You can call them on the phone, they know what they're talking about, and they stand behind their products. These are the vendors who support the Registry by advertising in the magazine and helping sponsor Registry events, and they've been in the Porsche parts business for decades.

For 6V fuel pumps:

NLA: Walbro (NLA 108 005 00) and Pierburg (NLA 108 005 01) electric fuel pumps

Zim's Autotechnik: Pierburg Low Pressure Fuel Pump

Just my opinion,

We need to support the vendors that support us!

Just my opinion,
I totally agree! Any while I have a Walbro, I would go with the Pierburg since the Walbro is noisy and has an internal bellows that ethanol in gas may help deteriorate quickly.

6 volt fuel pumps

#7 Post by Ken Daugherty »

We just installed a electric fuel pump from Al Zim.
It is controlled with a three way switch. One position is off,
another is on and the third is momentary. The purpose is to prime the
carbs with the momentary position.
It is marked 12v but works just fine with 6v.
