Thanks all...
It's interesting seeing how everybody solved this problem given what they have to work with!!

Re: Silly?
We modified a Motorcycle jack similar to the one obove. Extended the legs about 12" and put swivel casters on all four corners. The top table pad tilts so you can pitch the back of the engine up enough to get the fan pulley nut in and clear the heater horns, You pump it up and then tilt the back. It works super, you pump it with a foot pedal and you can reach under and turn a knob to change the pitch angle, of the engine. The lowering valve it very slow when all the way down and speeds up as you release it. It slips under the test stand and raised high enough to go into an engine stand. I with I had thought of this 50 years ago.
Takes some square tube and welding but very simple. The tilting table and height is the real trick No more trying to pitch the engine on a jack pad or working the handle to get alignment. I can hold the shroud with my right hand and Jack with my left foot and pitch the engine with my left hand. Also has a low profile so I don't have to jack the car as high. If you drop 3-4 engines a year it well worth the time to build. - Attachments
