Ollies Engine Case

#1 Post by Mark Brahms »

My restorer sent out my case to Ollies 6 months ago...and from what he can tell nothings been done yet..we've called to inquire and have effectively gotten the brush off.
Recently we had someone tell us(not with Ollies) that they heard of occasions that if you call to often they'll simply ship your unfinished case back!
We know they're the best, are we being unreasonable in looking for a timeline?? Has anyone had similar experience with them?
Any input would be appreciated
Mark

I know there are others that work on the cases. I've used Walt at Competition Engineering for at least three.

Walt, at Competition Engineering, will take a while as well. He just finished my 6th 4cyl motor and is about to start my first 911 3.0. He is available, will talk with you and will put your project on the line, eventually getting it all done. Having visited his far out outpost shop (Lake Isabella) on many occasions, he is Very busy, hard at it everyday. From my experience, he does not play games with his customers. Like he said over lunch last month. "I know I am not the cheapest, people come back because we are very detailed".

Speaking from prior experience I would NEVER ever recommend them for 356 machine work of any kind! I'd be thanking my lucky stars that they haven't started on your cases and get them back from them ASAP! Walt is definitely the better choice no matter how long he takes!
