Authenticity IV availability

#1 Post by Brett Johnson »

Hi Authenticity fans!

I'm pleased to report that Authenticity IV is at the printer. Final proof was approved yesterday and I expect books to arrive around the first of December. See additional information in the classified section of this website.

Vincent,

Any idea of a cheap shipping method to the UK? In 1992, Julie and I took pre-packed books in our luggage. Went through the green lane at Gatwick with suitcases weighing 70, 69, 67 and 45 lbs. Then spent around three hours later that day at the post office with Jenny Maybin shipping them to people who had ordered them in the UK and Europe, so they would have them before the Porsche Parade Europe event at Brighton.

Not planning a return trip before Christmas.

Got it -- Thanks Andy!

The best shipping rate to Europe I have found so far is the US postal service Priority Mail (6-10 business days). The cost will be around $37 to Europe, $38 to Australia and (sorry) $27 to Canada. This is for one book only and two books weigh too much to ship in the standard rate envelope.

I've got about a month to find better rates and I begin looking into that in the next few days. If anyone out there has advice in this area, please let me know. I get no satisfaction charging customers high shipping rates.

An alternative is to contact (or meet -- stay away from certain websites!) someone from America and invite them to visit for the holidays. Tell them that you'd like to order the book and have it delivered to their house (for the $4 special shipping rate). If their mother taught them proper manners, they'll offer to buy it and bring it in return for your generous invitation to spend the holidays with you. Just a thought...

There is no book rate outside the US that I could find. All continental US orders will be sent via media mail (library rate) -- unsure about Alaska/Hawaii.

I visited UPS and FedEx today. At UPS the single book rate was around $160 to Europe. FedEx was higher!
