Re: color code for KNECHT air filters
Air filters for a T5 are generally the black cans (on 1600N and 1600S with Zenith carbs). If it is a S90 with Solex 40PII, you would have the oblong silver mesh filters.

I don't know if this old information I saved helps since it applies to wheels, but if they are the same here you go.
Note: Duplicolor DE 1615 Aluminum Engine enamel is a good color match or NAPA de 1615
Plasti-kote Aluminum 207
Dupli-Color #DAL 1679 Silver Metallic
[Editor: the question of what silver paint to use on 356 wheels is often asked. NLA/Stoddard sells Wurth Silver in a rattle can that is a very good match, as shown at right (larger photo). For what others have used, read on...]
Wyatt Blankenship: I used Plasti-kote Aluminum 207 plus Plasti-kote Clear 229. Looks real close to what it should be. Found it at PEP Boys. Sand it down with some fine grit paper to remove all rust and loose paint.
Bill Cooper: I have had good results using Dupli-Color #DAL 1679 Silver Metallic lacquer spray paint.

Great link Doug - what a super issue that was. That's the Registry issue with my barn find story on page 38. (Also a very good article on cleaning Knecht air cans - I guess I never got that far in the magazine )Doug McDonnell wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 12:33 pm https://porsche356registry-production-p ... 1431544834 Page 62 And more info here: viewtopic.php?t=45062
