Original 1960 T5 Gas Pedal Setup/photos...

#1 Post by Tom Dux »

Afternoon,

My recently purchased 1960 T5 appears to have a home-made gas pedal setup. Original pedal attached to a block of wood w/ a piano hinge, no return spring etc.

I would love a few photos of someone’s factory/original pedal setup on a ‘60 T5 and any information on where to source these parts. Or if anyone has them for sale! Thank you.

This current link has some pics: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=48829 Toe board mounts, pedal support brackets and many other parts are available from Vendors. Pedal assemblies come for sale in classifieds occasionally. A WTB ad might get you a response. Several pedal assemblies for sale on Thesamba.com now and parts vendors like Adam at Unobtanium inc would be a source. You might also want to try Parts Obsolete as they purchased most of Jim B's parts when he closed up his business.

The gas pedals are all the same, mounted with 2 6 mm hex hd cap screws to the toe board mount. That picture in the link is a little misleading as when the rubber cover is on there is very little clearance between the bottom of the pedal and the mounting screws. Substitute socket head cap screws and mounting the pedal is much easier as you can "aim" the screw with the wrench.
