Re: Cant turn off motor
Robert, you may have hit the jackpot. My generator indicator light is a single terminal with a 2-connector adaptor clipped on it so there is no comparing going on here... Should I have something a bit more specialized? And do I need the same thing on the other indicator light?

Your generator output fault indicator lamp-holder must be a two terminal device, the body of which electrically floats with respect to the steel body of the instrument into which it is inserted. (I am doing this from vague memory.) I think it must be a black plastic two terminal lamp holder.
quote from above:
"My generator indicator light is a single terminal with a 2-connector adaptor clipped on it "
This is absolutely the cause of the problem.
Only the generator output fault indicator lamp-holder must be this style. (as I recall)

Thank you very much. Looks like I will be digging thru my "what the heck is this?" box to see if this special lamp holder is still in my possession when I get back home.
