tool roll for 356C Cab/jack uestion

#1 Post by Jan Larch »

Hi All. What is the proper color for a tool roll for a 1965 Porsche 356C Cab? I have heard varying colors and want the right one. Also, does anyone have a photo of what the jack would look like? Is there a difference between B and C models? Thanks.

Jan Here is a great link about the tool kit for a C: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26438&p=126959&hil ... it#p126959 It seems like the blue/green bag was most common but some original owner bags of different colors also in the link.

Tool bags for the very late 1963 to 1965 C/SC cars came in many different colors, depending on what the factory could source. The very early bags were heavier and shinier, with less graining. They also had the two very small rivets holding the clasp. They ranged in color, black, dark brown, dark green, dark blue, white. As they got later in production, there were a lot of, gray, gray/blue, and white ones with the clasp fastener being the bar shape of the later 911 bags. They always had the two small vinyl ears held down by the clasp, EXCEPT for a handful that I have seen in very late 65 that did not use them; probably because the 65 911/912 ones that were coming in did not use them. Hope that helps. I have a number of C kits in inventory and could send you a picture of to use as reference, contact me at my email jentexinc@aol.com. Jerry Manna

Perhaps helpful as a reference; herewith photos of my `65C cab's (1) original jack and tool kit, (2) tool kit original contents (with exception of a tire gauge replacement), and (3) the top's boot bag with boot.
