Re: Battery floor ribs
Found the “battery floor ribs” thread very interesting, but the transition to tack strips is even better as I’m fitting a new top to my ’56 European Cabriolet. The original 10mm extrusion from GHE Germany is no longer being made. I am considering using the VW, 10mm half round track strip which is chrome plated brass, as the original aluminum strip is very easily bent. Has anyone else found that the VW strip is the way to go?

Except that they should be 12 mm -- I think Spencer knows more about these...

Here's most everything I know about the top trim.

Re: Battery floor ribs
Chuck,
Does your '56 cab have the vertical, 8mm trim moldings on the B-pillars?
What is the manufacturing date for your car?
Thanks,

Re: Battery floor ribs
Spencer,
The strip on the B pillar is long gone. I have had the car since 1978, and the top had been replaced when I purchased. The date of manufacture is Jan. 3, 1956

Re: Battery floor ribs
There's another data point for the B-pillar trim Brett: Jan 3, 1956.
Must've been a T1 A addition and not a T2 addition.

Original floor from 50748*. Clearly un-equal length battery box floor ribs.

And 52073. Unequal length.
As you can see, even with a very clear photo on well-preserved floors, it's really difficult to tell.
