Response time
Is it my computer (Win10, Google Chrome), or is the forum a bit slow in responding for the past few days?
Some days it just isn’t worth the hassle of chewing through the restraints......

Re: Response time
Even with the superior Apple operating system I have found the forum to be a bit hesitant over the last few days.

Re: Response time
The website is slow as measured against other websites even on my MAC Mini.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Re: Response time
It got better for a while yesterday, 7/7, but bogged down again this a.m. I got an error message when I tried to post, indicating "General" error. "Too many connections". ?????

Re: Response time
Yes, a 'General error, too many connections' for me too when trying to post earlier.
I'm relatively new to this classic car hobby. For as long as I've had classic Porsches, I've had the internet (and the people at the other end of the internet) to help me with those hundreds of questions I've had. How did you all cope with running these cars pre 356 Registry ? Did everybody write letters to each other ?
20 seconds.
In retrospect this did make me smile. What's the world coming to when my transatlantic communications take 20 seconds to reach their destination.Mike Ruddy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 11:49 amI'm finding things very slow today, pages are taking up to 20 seconds to load.

Re: Response time
Mike, we had this other new fangled thing called the "telephone." You have this device and you would input a sequence of numbers and then in some far off place a disembodied voice would speak and say things like "hello what do you want?" That was how I communicated with the experts of the day like Vic Skirmants who once made the mistake back in the dim and distant past of giving me his secret number. I still use that system but it is now updated and better than before.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Re: Response time
356 Registry Website still has this problem. Very slow to load website with a 'Waiting for 356 Registry' displayed
Also slow to load any page or post. Then the problem goes and then returns, and still we have it!
Regards Jay

Re: Response time
Update: Still slow, but on occasion is OK. Using my cell phone (android), it can be fast sometimes and then slow on others. Doesn't seem to follow any particular pattern. Currently on a Win10 machine and it's dead slow......
Is anybody working on the problem? See above for clues.
Thanks,
Wes

I hate to be a nag, but is ANYBODY working on the problem? We're not hearing anything and it's extremely frustrating to put up with the long wait. It isn't constant, but it happens often enough to be a pain int he butt. For the record, all the other sites I visit come up just fine. This was first reported 3 weeks ago...........
