Relay restoration
Just thought I'd share my restoration of my horn, headlight, and fog light relay. The cases of the horn and headlight were straightened, blasted and powder coated the appropriate colors. I reproduced the artwork and sent it out to my printer who pad printed onto each cover. Better than new. The fog is NOS for comparison. The printing isn’t as crisp.

Re: Relay restoration
Not sure what you mean by mount? The photos are the factory fuse block and bracket if that’s what you’re referring to.

Re: Relay restoration
Ok. I will take a double look at mine. I don’t think I have the mount/bracket for the relays.

Re: Relay restoration
Dave. Very nice job. Do you have the RAL numbers on the powders you used for me to put in my data base?
Thanks
John

Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing the pad print videos. How hard was it to find someone to do a one-off pad print?Dave Whittick wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 4:39 pm Just thought I'd share my restoration of my horn, headlight, and fog light relay. Re: Relay restoration
To be honest, I didn't know about the process until I started to ask around. A friend of mine suggested it after he had had some dash knobs printed. The company happened to be in Toronto as well. They had no problem running one off jobs although they had just finished a large job for BMW before they were able to get to mine. I assume they prefer the larger jobs due to the setup time involved. The price was quite reasonable considering.Dennis Vogel wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 3:28 pm Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing the pad print videos. Re: Relay restoration
Originals were not powder coat, just painted not much better than a quick spray bomb job.

Of course the originals were painted. Like I said in my original post, better than new.Brad Ripley wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 12:53 am Originals were not powder coat, just painted not much better than a quick spray bomb job.
