Hi Jack,

The friend of mine bought the Cox a few years ago for $450 and it was in great shape - since he knew nothing about campers I went with him to look at it.
We checked it out and when he asked me if I thought he should buy it I told him that if he didn't buy right that minute that I would.

Re: Members' Old Cars - (Not 356 Porsche)
It is amazing the extent of the cross-over between old Land Rovers and 356s.
Does anyone know of a good Land Rover club in the New England area? My other old car is a Series III Land Rover, and it would be great to connect with enthusiasts like we have here on the Registry. I have not been able to find any such group, but maybe I have not looked hard enough or maybe they are all out on the trail!
Thanks.
Mark

I have two Series trucks - a 1966 109" diesel station wagon and a 1967 Series IIA 88" pickup, a Defender 90 Tdi, and a new Discovery 5 diesel so my driveway looks like a Land Rover commercial.
Look here: https://www.defendersource.com/forum/f12/
There are some very active Land Rover clubs in your area - the Maine Winter Romp is coming up very soon and there is a Vermont Overland Rally in the fall.
Eric Riston at Atlantic British Ltd is a great guy as are the staff at Rovers North.
Also the GunsandRovers website is where a lot of Series guys hang out:

Re: Members' Old Cars - (Not 356 Porsche)
Mark, I know there are some Land Rover centric off road clubs in the New England area. I'll try to find a name. A couple of times each summer I see a parade of seriously set up old Range Rovers, disco's and older LR's going past my house up to trails at the end of the road. They have plates from all over North East and do some kind of class 4 road/off road tour. What a site to behold, I remember being so jealous when they drove by while I was working like a slave on my house. I have often thought of picking up an older RR or disco for woods duty.
Jack, that looks very familiar! Wow, 450 for that is a steal. You had some neat old campers!
I made this rack for it. It straddles the soft top and is easily removed (with 2 people). I do have the hubcaps. Lost one once and it was found nearby like 2 yrs later.
No interior photo's, but it is in excellent shape with original table, flooring and cushions.
Excuse my youngest being a goofball for the pic as usual.

Cool stuff. I am sure there are lots of LR folks in the New Hampshire and Vermont area. I don't see very many series in the Boston area. I get a lot of, "Hey, nice Jeep!"

Just came across this pic of my old Sprite - man was I cool! Most of the time I owned it, it had a primered front fender but repainted it just before I sold it (as usual!).
Those of you from the East Bay may recognize the scenery - Wildcat Canyon Rd. east out of Tilden Park toward the Dam Rd. in Orinda.Greg Bryan

Sprites/Midgets are really fun to drive. Just like the Speedster, simplicity and lightness purify the driving experience. A true sports car.

1972 350SL, first year for the 107 series. It’s been in the family since 1976. Not much of a sports car, but a great highway cruiser. Stable as a rock at 90 mph.

1972 911T Targa, with a hotridded twin plug 3.2 from an ‘85 Carerra. Loud, fast and so much fun. Lots of power in a 2400 pound car.
I sincerely regret selling the car before our move back to CA but we had no room for it.

I'm a third generation gearhead - my grandfather is in the middle of the three looking over one of his Miller race cars in 1932. I guess this why I have no interest in any sport involving a ball.

I guess I did the Mustang up right, I had two guys trying to buy it at the car show today. But I did get to drive the hippy bus.
