Piston circlip.
Rebuilding the engine in my 1965 356C. Although parts vendors list them, their photos show the spring wire type, not the retaining ring type (as are currently in my engine) with two holes. This type utilizes a retaining ring plier to remove and install.
Seeking info on the retaining ring type with the two holes:
Size?
Part number?

Re: Piston circlip
356 Pistons always used the spring wire. (with a relief so you could get it out) They are superior to the two hole circlips used elsewhere from a wrist bin retaining and pin removal point of view. (The chamfered end of the wrist pin pushes the ring down into the groove.) The groove shape is different too. Circlips go in sharp edge out. I wonder what type of retainers the modern aftermarket pistons use?
