Another original engine reunited!

#1 Post by Frank Hood »

After several months of learning the original engine to my 53 Coupe was for sale in Germany I was finally able to purchase it!

The following Registry members all made this reunion possible.

Martin Bruechle - Made a post he found another member’s engine. See post here: http://forum.porsche356registry.org/vie ... =1&t=45462

Alain Buchert - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for replying to Martin’s post that you located my original engine after reading my reply, “PS Now if you could find mine... 32308”!

Hendrik Moulds - Thank you for being my interpreter during the initial contact and negotiations with the seller.

Paul Smith - Many many thanks for inspecting and picking up the engine.

Mike Smith - Thanks for keeping Paul in line on the boat ;)

If you’re looking for the original engine for a 356 please contact Jim Johnston at jimjohnston@porsche356registry.org so he can update the “Composite list of engines wanted” thread which is located here http://forum.porsche356registry.org/vie ... =1&t=38835

I hope this gives hope to all that are searching for their original engine!

Keep the Faith!

Great result, what a great community we have here.

Personally I have only dealt with Paul and Mike Smith (PRS in the UK), who are simply the best (maybe there's a song there) in all ways and Hendrick, with the odd communication over the internet, also superb, so I'm not surprised their input went well.

Long may it continue, now it's back to trying to get that RH door seal rubber sorted.

Karma; The original engine for my 65 just came up last month in Adams list.
Not sure if I want to keep the car ? Decisions...

so nice putting the original parts back together and saving another 356. Congrats. I as a youth sold both of my original 1600 and 1600s roadster engines in favor of 912 engines, would love to have them back now
