What type are you looking for, a wet cell or Optima? Several auto parts store either have them in stock or can order them. Optima batteries can be ordered from one of our vendors, Chatham Motorsports, or an auto parts store like O'Reilly's.

If you search this topic on this site, you will find several threads and info.

If you post your location, there are probably members near you that can help you with your search.

Farm supply store. 6 volt 84 amp hour depending on locality between $50 and $100.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

FYI a VW 6 volt battery will work but it has fewer amp hours and is a little smaller than a "real" 356 battery. I got a deal on one and in Seattle the weather is warm enough that the VW battery is good enough. If I were in a colder climate I'd hold out for the correct battery.

My local Firestone dealer (Buena Park, CA) carries the Interstate 19L battery. I found out the hard way that it was 2/3 the price of what I had been paying at the local Interstate distribution center. I know a lot of owners swear by Optimas; I guess I got a bad one because all I did was swear at it.

I have had 3 Optima batteries since about 2000. I recently replaced the last one which was dated December 2009. I was just starting to crap put but still has plenty of juice as a test battery.

I keep my battery on a charger that I got from Klasse 356.

I've read many comments about "bad" batches of Optimas. Maybe I was unfortunate enough to have one of those. :(
