Question regarding this seat rod: Should it be chrome plated or painted in pre a? I have seen examples of both while browsing the images of early cars.

Thanks,
Aki

I suspect some owners may have had the rods chrome plated when plating the hinges. Originally they were painted silver as Jim says.
