Seat Hinge ID
Would someone be able to tell me if a set of passenger side seat hinges dated '57 would work correctly on a '61 Cariolet? Thank you, Bob

They will work if you have the cross bar as well. The cross bar on the early hinges has female ends that are square. The cross bar on the T5 hinges is a male round splined one.

Re: Seat Hinge ID
Hi Bob,
Jim B. is correct and there is another cosmetic difference....the recliner levers.
The 356A T2 seat hinge recliner lever knob points to the dash; the 356B T5 seat hinge recliner lever knob points to the door. see photo attached. Again this is only a cosmetic difference and the seat hinges will work on your 356B.

Re: Seat Hinge ID
Can you confirm that item on the left of your photo is from a T5? When I look at the examples in Seat Back Hinge Types article, I took the presence of the hook at the bottom as an indication they were T6 seats.John Chatley wrote:The 356A T2 seat hinge recliner lever knob points to the dash; the 356B T5 seat hinge recliner lever knob points to the door. see photo attached. I'm still learning how to correctly ID seats, and would appreciate any clarification. I've put info I've been able to compile in this T5 Front Seat ID and Availability topic. Thank you.
