John Hearn enjoyed having his photo taken while he was in action.

This is the car that won the Post War Sports Car Class on Sunday. It is a 1966 Ford GT40 Mk II that finished third overall at Le Mans in 1966.

This appears to be 12336, ex-Matsuda and Bill Jackson. Can anyone verify?

Hi all,
Yes this car is #12336 American Roadster. Dad Bob owned this car in the early 1970's in the condition pictured.
Took third in class at Pebble after restoration last week.. Ironically The Ingram's also own #17 Porsche restored in the early 80's by Bob and it took third in class at Pebble in 1982.

Steve:
Ironically, #17 too was owned by Bill Jackson. I recall sitting in his office and being asked, "Frank, do you think this car is really worth $XX,XXX?" (At the time, that was all the money and more for a 356.) Luckily, I answered, "Yes," and Bill bought the car from Bob. The Gmuend was restored by my friend Scott Grundfor, who is among the top 300SL experts/restorers in the world (and a nice guy, too).

Yes Frank,
I remember going to Scott's shop in the San Fernando Valley, CA as he was restoring #17. This was Scott's first 356 to restore.
What a car to be the first right? Is Scott still in the SFV?
Also how much did it sell for when Bob sold it do you remember?
Best,
Steve

Re: Ingram Collection America Roadster at Pebble Beach Conco
I owned this Roadster back in the day. A major motivation for me to buy the car was to obtain the
692/3 4-cam engine that was installed. A bit of coincidence here,...this America Roadster once lived in Durham NC
and I purchased the car from the owner in Durham.
Nice to see it come back home into the hands of friends. Congratulations to the RS crew...again!
