Ground straps

#1 Post by Ron LaDow »

Once more with (I hope) an image shrunk enough to pass the filter:
Ground strap 001.JPG
1) Is this the stock part for the steering coupler?
2) (old fart memory) Anyone remember the thread on cleaning copper with some household chems?

Thanks, John, but the limitations of the site prevent posting the images required to answer the questions. And I've been 'disciplined' earlier for making the point.

Ron,
that looks like the original part for the steering coupler. I thought I had one original but cannot find it.

Bruce,
Yep; we'll see what it does on the plated terminals. Appreciated.

Ron, are you thinking about making the steering coupling ground strap? That's p/n 644-47-104 or 356-47-104 for extended st. column.

Now the trivia ..... which strap type do you want to make? The wide braid with holes, the narrow braid with eye connectors or single wire with eye terminals.
