Heckmann & Thiemann, Marque motors. I have asked a member who bought an original owner 63 356 2 years ago to contribute also as I can't remember who did his PPI.

No That is why I contact the person I know who had a PPI done as I remember it was well done. I bet Rob will comment. I contacted him but he is out of town until the weekend and will post then. Also Rhys Haydon had some work done in Portland but I think that was with a restorer who may not do PPI's. He is a forum moderator so may see this and comment also. Tom Black's garage restores 356s and I bet could recommend someone. 503-239-0027 They did the work on Rhys's car.

Actually Doug, I am in DC at the moment and cant remember the name of the shop. The PPI was conducted by the gentleman that was assisting the widow with the sale of her late husband's 356. I didn't actually deal with the shop, I was just furnished with a copy of the results. If need be I can check when I get home Friday evening and post the name, thanks, robb

If it is Matrix Integrated that you're going to use, I don't believe they do body work, just mechanical. However, they have taken care of all the mechanicals on my 356 and I can attest to the reputation of the shop and the skills and knowledge of George Humphreys.

Hello!

It's true. I have been very happy with Matrix in Portland and George is a master mechanic; Excellent work at a fair price.
I have used Tom Black as well and is who will most likely do any future resto work in the Portland area.

While this fellow is an expert in the 911 world, will bet he can do the work or will certainly know of reputable shop for your 356PPI:

Call the original guru, Gary Emory, Parts Obsolete, near McMinnville Oregon (about an hour from Portland). He should be able to give you a referral.

When my '65 C made a funny "clunk" at the West Coast Holiday I had it towed to Heckman and Thiemann. It took them a while but they found the problem. My conversations with them indicated to me that they were very knowledgable about 356's, which was comforting as I hate to let anyone other than me work on my car!
