Porsche 70th Celebration

#1 Post by Trevor Gates »

Did anyone attend a Porsche 70th celebration in their area? Craig had plans today but was kind enough to let me borrow his 1960 Coupe so at least one more 356 was represented. Here are a couple pics.

Anybody else who took pics please feel free to add to this thread.

Arizona

As I was slowly reaching my melting point on my way home i wondered why Dr Porsche did not found his company in March or November.

Jules,

40° Celsius is 104° Farenheit. What happened to your air-cooled machine in that heat?

I see you had your auxiliary fan on, so there was a good supply of fresh warm air.

Bonjour de provence!

Prescott Kelly and I are in France and we visited the Porsche dealer in Avignon France. The dealer also owns the dealership in Marseilles France and had organized a rally between the two locations. We did not participate in the rally but here are some of the 356 cars at the start. There were also many SWB and LWB 911s

Edwin, the car didn't skip a beat, it was 108 when i got home. Temp gauge was barely over half and i was doing a steady 125km/h / 80mph. I've driven across the desert for 4 hours in these temps in my A and it does just fine. Just bring lots of water for the driver/passenger, it does get a little sticky. The aux fan does little, would do great as a hair drier.

Yes, I attended my local event (at Porsche Centre Edinburgh), they displayed my 1959 356a in the showroom, it received a lot of attention as we don't have many 356s here in Scotland.
