Joroen, Joris is right. I think that the metal bracket that we both have is a universal mounting bracket for turn signal flashers. If you look on e-bay there are several of the same bracket for sale. A customers car has also been converted with the same installation including the wiring change to push on connectors.

This is the early Hella flasher, used on all bent-window pre-A cars as far as I know.

This is the unit that is installed in my March of 55 Pre A if that helps at all.
As a side note, is there anyone out there that can repair one of these?

looks just like the 4 post blinker on from my 55 cab . its common for the spring to let go . give it a shake if it rattles its a easy fix open it up and replace the spring . i got my replacement spring from the local hardware store . from what i was told any 6v 4 post cube will work . you can use a 3 post but i cant recall how it should be wired .
