Blaupunkt Radio Glass fuse query
I have an all original Blaupunkt 6V AM-FM Shortwave radio in my 356 B, but unfortunately I have mislaid the in-line/glass fuse. Could someone please advise me of the dimensions of the fuse - length, diameter and amps, and the supplier of the same?
Looking forward to your replies,
Many Thanks

Re: Blaupunkt Radio Glass fuse query
According to the Blaupunkt spec sheet I have for the Frankfurt transistor #3798, it lists two Buss fuses.
M2, rating 4A, #6MA4
M3, rating 2A, #6MA2
The diagram for the power pack only shows the M3.
I hope this helps.

Re: Blaupunkt Radio Glass fuse query
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply regarding the fuses. I am finding it difficult to locate the fuses on this side of the pond, any thoughts on a supplier in the US that may be able to assist?
Kind regards
Norman May

Let me do a little digging, Norman. I'm sure they are still available from someone.

Two companies came up that carry a wide range of fuses: McMaster Carr and Grainger.

I would just go to my local autoparts store and buy a universal radio in line fuse holder. A quick install with a pair of wire cutters and a bit of tape and it will be just fine. Only you will know that it has a "brand X" fuse and holder.

Re: Blaupunkt Radio Glass fuse query
Jim: Norman may be referring to the fuse located within the radio, not the in-line one.

Re: Blaupunkt Radio Glass fuse query
Thanks to all who have replied so far, though I do appreciate Jim Breazeale's advice, I would like to persist in obtaining the correct fuse. The fuse is for the yellow lead from the radio to power source and I believe the fuse diameter is 4mm, and length is 20mm, not sure of the amperage. Many apologies Mike for not being more specific but I am pursuing your suggested suppliers, no luck so far.

I just use an 8 amp ceramic fuse in an original fuse holder.

Fry's Electronics has every fuse imaginable. In the UK that may be your old school hardware store perhaps. Or a place that sells computers or audio systems.

A picture of your holder would help. There is more than one type.

Norman, this fuse (diameter is 4mm, and length is 20mm) is in the powerpack of the radio.luc verschueren wrote:Do you mean something like this?Mike Wilson wrote:Jim: Norman may be referring to the fuse located within the radio, not the in-line one.
