Head ID

#1 Post by Alan Winer »

Can someone give me some info on these heads I'm using for a rebuild.
I assume they are C/SC heads. They are black anodized with 38mm intake & 34 exhaust valves. I know the SC heads were anodized and there are few examples of C heads that were anodized..........
BUT they are numbered 616-104-301-.02 and I could not find this number in the parts manual or the parts number index.
Thanks,
Alan

David,
I had considered that they were 912, but there is no PVC (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) hole up where the shroud screws in. The link you forwarded did list that number as C/SC & 912 but I see no mention of that number the C parts manual. Perhaps a possible replacement part?

Alan, my $.02 findings, unless--?

The C/SC cylinder head w/o the vent hole is listed as 616 104 106 01; The SC heads were blackened like the S90s incl. some C's, but that was discontinued on the 912 heads w/the vent hole added and is listed as 616 104 036 02--All later castings have the vent hole.
