I have case P*62570* if that one isn't close enough.
It was dealer replaced in 1957 with a crack on the bottom and subsequently tig welded.
It shows no wear in the journals.

That's why people should put their email address in their profile.

Re: Found Motor 62538 Rob Greene
Is Rob Greene still a member? Did he not put his e-mail in his profile?
(I quit looking for him through the database after a while. It sorts on the user name rather than the last name. Kinda cumbersome and I may not have too many years left..... Maybe there's a better way. I'm an analog man in a digital world.)
I'm sure that if he has the car he would be interested in the engine.

Try this when searching for a member.
1 Click on "Members" upper right hand corner.
2 Click on "Find a member".
3 Type in member's name in "username" field.
4 Hit search.
Hope you find this a bit easier.

Luc - It might be a good idea to remove Rob's phone number now from your post.

Re: Found Motor 62538 Rob Greene
Apparently Rob didn't want it (or the price was higher than he thought he could pay). Too bad the car and engine couldn't be reunited. Would the $8500 in the original ad, plus freight, plus the cost of a rebuild add enough value to a numbers matching car?

Re: Found Motor 62538 Rob Greene
I once found that I had a guy's original case for his Speedster, I offered it to him at my regular price, no mark-up, he wasn't interested. A couple of years later I saw his car at a show, and wouldn't you know it, he had the same numbered engine in his car!!! But the stamping on his engine was much crisper and cleaner than the old dirty case I had, wonder which one was the original motor...

Adam, if my engines are any indication, you have the original one. 8)
