Anyone know of a 6v h3 for fog lights?
Subject pretty much says it. I've done some searching but everything I find seems to be too long.

I like the easy questions ..
see http://www.nlaparts.com/store/bulb-yell ... 18591.html for 6 volt H-3 yellow
or
http://www.nlaparts.com/store/halogen-b ... 18590.html for 6 volt H-3 clear
you'll find the dimensions here http://www.nlaparts.com/store/bulb-shop ... 1_905.html
Don't know what you mean by "but everything I find seems to be too long". The bulbs for Hella 128 are only either of these

Duh! Forgot to mention that I'm looking for LED. All the 6v LED H3 bulbs I've seen are too long. Sorry about that (important) omission.

I saw those, too. The dimensions are 12x57mm, which are too long for Hella fogs.Peter Poulikakos wrote:Are you looking fora globe

Thanks Robin, interesting and entertaining.Robin Walker wrote:Richard, have a look at a UK website that supplied my 356C with 6V led headlight 'bulbs' they have a helpful website and may be able to answer your questions see :- http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com
After looking at this site and doing some more searching/thinking, I think I'm on a fool's errand. My take is that some amount of cooling is required, and that can be with an attached active heat sink of some sort (think Feldman's headlights), or somehow designed into the body of the bulb, like the 57mm long bulbs (see the photos). Either way, the available solutions aren't attractive.
Since my goal is to reduce electrical draw when using both the headlights and the fogs, I may end up taking the path of least resistance and upgrading the headlights to LEDs. Solves my problem and involves little drama.
