Mine, original to my '63 cab. Repro bag, keeping the original while I try to figure out how to clean it...

I have black oxide wrenches that are plain like the ones in the above tool kits only mm size and DIN 895 and I have wrenches that have W Germany stamped after the DIN 895. Was wondering if the ones stamped WGernany are 'correct' also for 63. I have ask Eric but got no reply. Also anyone have a method of removing metal shank out of wood handle screwdrivers?

None of the wrenches in the original DIN 895 set from my brother's '63 are marked "West Germany."

See this link: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=45265#p302158 The second wrench (13x17mm) is not part of this "set."

The original '63 wrenches are 8x9mm, 10x11mm, 12x14mm and 17x19mm. The sizes are not listed in the Jan '63 driver's manual.

Duck bill screwdriver are rather hard to track down so I made mine from SMC screwdrivers, had to add larger wood handle.
Here is my repo gray 63 kit. Kinda proud of my hand made wood handle screwdrivers and extra gray tool roll I made for the extra stuff.

I bought the tool kit on SF Craig’s List. Looks original to me. I have an extra lug wrench. Looking for flat blade screwdriver. Anyone.

Daryl, I like your repo. tool bag. I got a question, could you take a picture of the back of the bag where the tie is attached to the tool bag. I finally found all the tools for my kit, now I'm restoring the bag. I found a tie string that looks correct but not a 100% the correct way to attach. All the pics I see are from the bags pocket side.
Thanks, Walt

Here are a couple of photos for you. The string-tie is sewn into the bag's stitching.

Happy to help. BTW, the color of the string tie is eggplant, or so my wife says.

Hey Peter, I have my original tool kit cleaned, string tie attached and located a spark plug socket. I have a friend who is a surgeon and she completely restitched my tool bag, it's awesome. Thanks for pics on tie string attachment it really helped. I'll forward a pic.download/file.php?mode=view&id=70263htt ... w&id=70262
