Dear all,
This German auction house just published a December catalogue for an online auction, see http://www.autotechnikauktion.de/mg/kat ... f=N&lang=2.
One of the items for sale seems to be customs documents with regards to the export of chassis number 50911, a 53 pre-A Coupe.
To hoping the car still exists and the owner reads this forum,
Pascal

Nothing would ever top that one you went to years ago,...where you were in for the original tool bag against the “telephone” bidder and dropped your number to scratch or something and the “telephone” bidder suddenly quit,....and magically the counter bidding stopped when you resumed.
“Ghost bidders” (auction employees just running up the bid) evaporate if they think they’re going to get stuck. Haha.
I’d give anything to be there,...and see that old original stuff see the light of day for the first time in decades. But I guess that’s the penalty I pay for the region in which I live,...just no 356er’s around back in the day,..hence, not much 356 stuff ever gets unearthed down here.
I can’t believe James hasn’t checked in here. Usually he’s all over anything 53 related. It wouldn’t surprise me if he knew exactly where this car is, haha.

Don't know if that car still exists. Probably not. It's close in number to mine though 50960. Interesting document. I wonder where it was exported to?
Yeah, I'm going to be a bit more intermittent in my posting here. My wife and I have a newborn (our first) to take care of. =)
