Regardless of your individual opinion on Rudges, they are very heavy and greatly increase your unsprung weight. Depending on what you are using them for they are more show than go.

Yeah, but if they were good enough for Steve McQueen, they are good enough for me.Wil Mittelbach wrote:+1chris romney wrote:Regardless of your individual opinion on Rudges, they are very heavy and greatly increase your unsprung weight. I've never understood the pervasive man-crush on Steve McQueen, either, so there you have it.Adam Wright wrote:Yeah, but if they were good enough for Steve McQueen, they are good enough for me.

Wow the 56 in the first post is literally 30 cars after mine (58031)
Seeing it's Kardex gives me a clearer picture about approx build date as I don't have my COA or Kardex yet.
But what's curious is the fact that it shows Porsche's numbering discrepancies.
My car 58031 was numbered 30 cars before this one. However my original engine (63558) was built 18 before this car's and my gearbox (12145) was built 15 before this car's.
Very interesting! BTW I've always loved the Rudge look. Proper racing wheel even though it is heavier. Back then it was probably a good option for a more robust racing wheel over stock wheels I'm sure. Not to mention much quicker pit times.

I thought starting in 1956 all beehive cars and the very first teardrop coupes had a single rear overrider bar..
