show your 356A radio delete plate
All,
I believe that the T-1? radio delete plates were different from the ones used on the T-2 cars. The T-2 plates appear to have been painted body color and had an actual Brass Porsche script attached to the front of the plate. The later T-2 plates appear to have all been beige in color and had the Porsche script molded into the plastic.
To draw some more definite conclusions it would be great if people could post the following:
- Picture of their plate
- Chassis number
Oh. and for those of you who might have an extra early plate, I am in the market for one.
Many thanks,
Joris

Okay, let me kick off. Two pictures, the one shows the early and late plate as described above. The other picture shows a brown plate which belongs to a friend of mine. He is aware of another one of these plates in an all original T-2 cabriolet with a tan/brown interior. As such it looks like the T-2 plates also came in different colors

Hi Joris,
Can't help you much but here is a photo of the plate from what was once my very original silver/red T2 A from May '59. 107827.

Radio plate from unrestored early '56 silver coupe. It has the separate metal Porsche script.

Thanks Chuck and Vic. So far I have seen the following:
Early style; silver colored on an un-restored silver car and aquamarine colored on an un-restored aqua car
Late style; Beige colored plate on a meissen, ruby red and original silver car, dark brown on a un-restored fjord green car and a whitish kind of color on an un-restored aquamarine car

Some more information, the beige plate shown in my first post came from a very original Meissen Blue car. It is beige but has several dark brown and black spots in it. Full beige plates without the speckling seem to have been more common.
Below a link to an early tech article which deals with the later style plates

Re: show your 356A radio delete plate
Hi,
Se here my radio plate.
When i bought my project T2 coupe aquamarine blue (vin 104961) there was an grey delete plate white parts. in the COA there is no radio mention and guess the plate belongs with the car. Like i se its an original plate but previous owners respray with silver paint
I wish to restore it and can't find the correct grey paint, maybe there is someone ho know witch type of grey color i should use.
thanks!
