Removable Hard Top with Sun Roof with electric motor
In Santa Barbara last Sunday we talked to the owner of a red 356 with a factory removable hard top which had an electric sun roof. He researched the car and could not find any written information about Porsche having electric sun roofs on the removable hard top. He currently is working on the electric motor to get the sun roof working again. He thinks it might be 1 of 3 made.
Pretty cool

I saw one at European Collectibles a couple of years ago (maybe the same car) and have heard of others, so, yeah, 3 might be an underestimation, but whatever the number, it must be small.

And that 356 with the hardtop/sunroof was QUITE nice. Posted a bunch of photos here....https://1drv.ms/a/s!AjRakg_MS7bPsgTOgp_3lbSa1aTW
I hope you can click on this. It was forwarded from Michael.
Interesting thing is that the 356 has not gotten factory validation on the hardtop/sunroof but Freeman Thomas and I took a really, really good look and are pretty sure of it.
Michael Dolphin was with me. The electric motor was burned out as someone was trying to get it to work.

Option code 9475 sugg retail, Nov 1962, was $336.00. No part number listed.
BTW, code 9460 was for hardtop without sun roof, price was $366. part number 644 563 001 00.

What a deal. Get a sunroof and save 30 bucks.

Freddy Rabbat has one on his Carrera cab. I had a deal on one once, but a local guy bought it before me.
Doug D in VA has one for sale, but I think he wants about $25,000 for it. I saw it when I was there last year, loading up!

Harry Cooper has one on his outlaw. I saw my first one in 1970 at a repair shop local to me in Berwyn PA. I think there is a period factory photo of one in the Conradt(spelled wrong) book.

Re: Removable Hard Top with Sun Roof with electric motor
We had one show up attached to a 356C at a PCA Concours back in the '80' here in Boston. It was electric. Never saw it again. I remember that it was held at the old Budweiser brewery on Rt 9 in Framingham MA. We were disappointed that they didn't serve beer at the event.

Tom, That one was a black 2ltr owned by Dudley Cunningham, Concord. It's in Pittsburgh now.

Re: Removable Hard Top with Sun Roof with electric motor
We just discovered that one of the options listed on the COA for our 1962 Cabriolet 356B came with an electric sunroof! Does anyone have any information or comments on that particular option?

Re: Removable Hard Top with Sun Roof with electric motor
I should clarify that we do not have the hardtop/electric sunroof in our possession, but would love to find one! It was brought to our attention that this was an option that came with our 1962 Cabriolet.
