From Ruby red to Auratiumgreen.....

#1 Post by Peter Nelissen »

Just a small story about a great car.

I bought my '58 356 A cabrio in 2004 from Mr Ferrara in Arizona.
Initialy the car was ruby red with black leatherette upholstery, at least at the moment I bought the car.
It left the factory in Auratiumgreen colour with than interior.

Because I wasn't satisfied with the way the car was painted, I had the idea to start a 'small' restoration.
We started out with depolishing but soon it was cleared out that the car was loaded with bondo.
So no other choice then to go whole the way..........

Ready for the road.
After 4 years being here on Belgium bottom, she finally passed all Belgian technical demands.

I am ready to drive her all summer long, just waiting for the sun to shine 8)

Peter, how far is your restoration-process by now???
Is everything going as planned???

The convertible D is the most beautifull 356type of them all, no doubt about that.

Meissenblue is a very special colour, a bit like auratiumgreen,
some people love it, some people don't.

Looking forward to see some pictures of your progress,
kind regards,Peter

Picture taken today, waiting for better weather.......

Sorry Steve, maybe a bit late reply,
