911 Sump Plate question

#1 Post by Ron LaDow »

Was there a 'bulged' steel sump plate available for 911 engines that had the latter pump fitted?

Ron, the "bulged" sump plates without drain plugs began in late 83. The oil pumps in these engines had filter screens attached to the scavenge tubes.

Thanks, Jon. I knew that the pickup tube had grown a screen and later cases had a bulge cast into them without a removable plate at all. Just wasn't sure. Just wasn't sure the screen predated the non-plate cases.
