For those who may be new to 356s, don't go for the less expensive bellows, just to save $30 or so.
Buy the correct unit for your 356. The VW units, if installed on a 356 will never reach a hot enough temperature to activate. They are intended to be mounted in the air coming off of the cylinders, while the 356 units are in ambient air in front of the engine.
