Roy Lock. 356 Day at CFoS April 23,2017

#1 Post by Dick Douglass »

Frank Lock said he liked the idea so here goes.
April 23,2017 starting at 8 am we will open the timeline parking area to 356's.
Roy brought many 356's to the track years ago and we want to Honor Roy.
So , email me at ddouglass356@gmail. and out Roy Lock in the subject line and tell me if you want to bring your 356 to the Auto Club Speedway during the CFoS. There is no charge. This is Not a Concours.

We hope to add a track tour and a photo shoot on the track to honor Roy but it hasn't been decided yet.

Well It is amazing how many friends Roy has.
So here is the deal.
Sunday April 23,2017 we will Honor Roy and Frank. If you register on Motorsportreg.com under the Roy Lock 356 Day at CFoS , we will take the first 50 356's. You will receive special s waiver sign in and wrist band registration. We won't charge you for parking near the food trucks and restrooms. When the track goes cold at noon we want to take all the 356's out on the track and Frank will lead us in their 356 Convertible D !!for a couple of Laps. The cost is $ 20.00 and you will pay for the track tour on Motorsportreg.com. Skip and Frank will hold the cars for a beautiful Kodak moment.
This is not a concours or judged event. Registration is open NOW and will close on April 1, 2017. If you want to park by model Pre A, A, B, and C go ahead. If you have an OUTLAW bring it! If you have a problem build a bridge and get over it. This is for Roy!

I will be at the swap meet on March 6th if you have any questions. Diane in the Goodie Store will know where I am.

Adam you and Mike Wilson are true 356 Gentlemen! Roy's son, Frank has said he can't believe the 356 Community would remember his Dad!
Skip, Suesan, and I are so excited to Honor Roy.

Mike was kind enough to remind me that the North Meets South event is the same weekend and many of Roy's friends will be in Paso Robles. It's all good. We still have 356's in So Cal who won't make the journey to Morro Bay and eat at Taco Temple where they take cash or local checks. Famous 356 engine builders eat at Taco Temple.

If you are staying local that weekend please come to the Auto Club Speedway with a son or daughter in your 356 and join Roy's family on the Track for a track tour headed by Frank and a photo shoot. Send me an e-mail. Ddouglass356@gmail.com.

Love the picture of Roy....

Lennie Yee from Porsche Southbay called to say that Sunday April 23 rd, 2017 is he and his wife's 30th Wedding Anniversary and He I Coming to Honor Roy Lock.

If you know Roy he always had gifts for the 356 brotherhood which were donated by Lennie. The last time we had the 356's on the track at CFoS Roy had a drawing for a Porsche Watch. That was from Lennie Yee. Roy was special and Lennie is special.

Don't wait to register on motorsportreg.com. It only cost $ 20.00 for a couple of hours with your 356 friends. I need you to register so that on Sunday I can have a special registration table for You so you can sign waivers and get your wrist bands. No One is allowed past the registration building with out singing in.

So 9 am Sunday April 23,2017 come to where the 15 meets the 10 and Cherry Street off ramp and head for the Auto Club Speedway. Be sire to look around and see many other Porsche.

I don't know what you paid to park at Anaheim but we have to be the cheapest 356 event and you get to drive on the Auto Club track which is celebration 20 Years. And follow Frank and take selfies.
