Outlaw Owners in Houston area?
I recently purchased a 63 356 with 912 engine. I will be visiting my daughter in Houston (Swift Drive/Ave) later this month. Anyone in Houston interested in getting together for a beer?

Is there anyone in Houston with a 356? I will be there 5/6 to 5/10. I can count the number of 356s that I have seen in my 70 years on 1 hand!!!

Isn't Ibrahim in Houston? Can't recall his last name. Buys and sells a lot of 356's.

Chris,
My 356/914 is a hoot to drive! Acceleration in 1st and 2nd is brisk. I was concerned about keeping up with traffic on Interstate highways......it is NOT a problem! Biggest concern is no cruise control...it will get into ticket territory in a snap!

Re: Outlaw Owners in Houston area?
Hey Bro, its a three hour hike to Houston from here, not something to be taken lightly. Interesting, your purchase of a '63 with 912 engine is just the ticket I'm punching. My project is a '63 coupe with a hole in the roof. Its original engine is rebuilt and awaiting its next caretaker. Well, that will be a long spell, as I'm also building an early 912 engine to take my project where most tubs have never been.
Until the 4th of the month our weather here in Boerne was a good as it gets. Being far enough west to catch most of what's left of the dry line, our spring has been one to right home about. Even after the 4th, as the daytime heat index rose, the dry air and abundant shade here in the hollow have kept the local weather more than special.
I feel for you out there in the all that humidity, been there and done that. Maybe when the project is closer to reality we can get together some place midway between you daughters and our place in Boerne. Hope you find some local tub owners, I know they are there.

Glen,
Thanks for your post. Your project sounds interesting! Hope it works out for you. I do agree that heat/humidity here in Houston is killer! Of course, it isn't much better in NC now. Conrad

Conrad,
Search for Mark Roth in Houston on the member's list. Mark is president of the Lone Star 356 club located in Houston. Probably 20 - 30 356s in Houston with a hard core group of 10 to 15 that attend monthly drives.
