Thanks for the info.
I called the local Porsche dealership to see if they could squeeze the key code off of the Kardex, but the factory told them to tell me that "they do not have the code and new keys are not available".
I figured it was worth a shot.
Anybody on here with connections able to find out my key code? I'd sure appreciate it.

I have only heard of keys being made by a skilled locksmith for the shift lock
Ignition key cylinders, door handles and cabriolet front hood lock keys can be made from the stamped in code

My second on Ryan. He just re-keyed my ignition to the doors. One week turnaround, and always a fair price. I've been with him for years.

My guy picks these locks all day long. They are not that hard. Taking them apart to re-key or service is the hard part. Still there is no reason to cut into them unless it is badly broken or has been seized by someone that doesn't know what they are doing.

Once it is picked and in between locked and unlocked, it takes a minute or two do pull it apart. It is "locked" in either position, however.

Resurrecting this old thread!

I have a ‘64 C and do not have the shift lock key ...
Does anyone know the key code to purchase a few new blanks? The lock tumbler is at my local locksmith and they cannot seem to find the correct blanks.

My internet searches led me to eBay where it seems a Volvo key, WS5, would work, but I’d appreciate confirmation here first.

Thanks in advance,
Liam

My source has been The Key Men, but the transmission lock key is currently out of stock. Sorry.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

Our locksmith should be able to cut the key from the code. He has key blanks for the lock but they are not the same as those used by Porsche. al zim 800.356.2964
