Re: Vintage 356 Pictures
P8131 painted on trans
very tall oil fill/breather can
insulated/wrapped header pipes
fuel line suggests use of mechanical pump
appears to be no attempt to keep cooling air and induction separate from hot air, no splash pans
tall breather on trans
note how beautifully simple the pushrod engine looks with all that space to work around the lightweight power unit

The Porsche stand at the Paris Auto Show, October 1954.
Notice the colors on the 550 Spyder.
And it looks like the cabriolet seems to be Adria Blue Metallic, and the dash is the same color. Very odd. Also, you can see that the sun visors on it have the lip turned downward when the sun visors are up. Hopefully this will put that tidbit of restoration trivia to rest. =]

Also note the windshield washer nozzles on the front cowl. I believe first installed on cabriolets in 1954 with chassis no. 60550 using glass reservoir and then plastic water bag with no. 60707.James Davies wrote:The Porsche stand at the Paris Auto Show, October 1954.

Re: Vintage 356 Pictures
Good eye Spencer. Yes, washer systems became standard on the '54 model year Porsches in May 1954, but they were included by the factory as a special order in '53 or standard on the USA de Luxe model coupes or cabs. The nozzles on that cab look the same as those on my '53 coupe - a half dome with a "straw" sticking out to direct the stream.
Wish I could see the Reutter fender emblem a bit better. It's definitely aluminum, but that's about all I can tell.
It seems to have a radio but no antenna. Show car indeed. =]
