Ibrahim,
Looks like you were able to drill the pump inlet port such as to avoid the plug on the outside.
Nice work; I've wondered why the factory didn't do so.

Re: The New Twin Dist.Timing cover....
Ralfy,Steve,
Thank you....Purpose here is keeping all the items looking periot correct 50~60's
The spin on filter will be covered by heat shield and engine tray ...
By looking on the engine bay,you will not see,and looking on from muffler end ,you will not see
you have to get little under the car to see it....
All my design and challange is to keep the Antique old look with better performance....

Ron,
I am with you,I do not know...We can drill inlet without the plug outside...
I did not make firm decition whether ,we keep it factory look by drilling from outside for the inlet
or from pump side like outlet drilling and having no plug on the inlet...

Ibrahim
What distributors do you envision using during your testing?
Just so you know Bob G has got the fans in progress
and was a great help with the IDA linkage.
Thanks for the leads and all your help!

Greg,
Thank you.Time is running so fast over 3 years now on this thing..We still have much to do..
So we will be updating as usual .Please keep in touch.
Robert,
Not that fast....I do not even want to think about that...This things eat amazing time frame and $$$$...
Decited to get the CNC machines in the shop so work will be under one roof.No more running around to sub the job.
Need to learn few computer glitches since Old Tool and Die knowledge only helps in these machines 25%

machining is done...
know what few additions needed to be done on the casting ...
after those corrections ....We will start sand casting the new twin dist, full flow oil filter timing cover...
Test running started today....All looking good...
Please enjoy the youtube video;

Re: The New Twin Dist.Timing cover....
Very exciting! What are the merits of choosing sand casting over CNC machining?

Re: The New Twin Dist.Timing cover....
Are you going to make the sheet metal so that this will fit in the engine compartment? It looks as if you will need the pan that goes across the rear of the engine to body. The 3/4 side of the engine lower air channel. The pan under the fuel pump and possibly the #4 cylinder cover. Will this be included in your kit? I am sure very few of us have the ability to fabricate sheet metal. al zim 2019/07/04

Re: The New Twin Dist.Timing cover....
Al, We probably shouldn't be too critical of the guys making all these incredible new parts. They do it because they can, not because there's a need or a market. For them it's fun, and I'm always open to a little fun. Slightly warmed-up 356 motors are my fun, stuff that looks stock (like racing rules used to say) but goes 'way better than factory spec. Putting in different motors, or fau this or that, doesn't do it for me; but a lot of guys like doing it. They own their cars, and I do enjoy admiring their work when well done.
One area I gotta agree with you Al, is these darn generators. They were weak when the cars were new, and now folks like to hang all these fog/driving lights... just looking for trouble on the road!

Re: The New Twin Dist.Timing cover....
Hi Al and all friends ,
All the sheet metal is original nothing to fabricate...Please see the pictures...
As Craig said..I love what we are doing..I enjoy every time I design and put it in the work...
No worries about sheet metal......Again All original pieces goes back to engine...
Design was 912 4 bolt bosses style to accommodate 912 cars bolt in...
( note..Under pulley sheet metal in the pictures is loose..did not want to take the pulley and screw it in it's place for now...)
About CNC it from a block....It is too much machining and not vintage looking .....
