#166 Post by Andrew Hosking »

I have just started a new project which is call '550 cubed' where I will post 550 photos over 550 days of an original 550 spyder. I am currently into day 3 but itching to add more photos now, as I am really excited about the shots I have taken - but I have to control myself to last the distance. I had access to 550-0056 where I could photograph it from every angle, so each shot focuses on an individual part that makes up the car. Here is a link to the photoblog - http://type550.tumblr.com/

About wacky cars I worked on Janis Joplin's psydelic 356. she would come by Kitberg Motors on Fillmore st and then sit on the curb and all her friends would drive by and she would greet them Also Paul Kanter of the Jefferson Air plane was also a Kirberg customer. he had a 67 911 S Targa that he removed all the "bling " from all the shiney stuff and then painted the car flat black. He also was an an animal driving the car he would shift the gears as fast as you could whip the stick. He also paid in cash one day after we had done $22000 worth of work he came in and paid Juergan all the money in cash. I noticed that he kept some of the bills in a different pile I aske him why and he said " i save the yellow ones" apparenrty the machines that count the bills for the fed the piles have the top bill color coded so the knew what the pile was worth. Out of my league. I am glad that i was a wrench to the rock stars of the 60's. Alan More stories to come from Jerry Slick grace slick's man. Alan The Stable.
