California Mille

#1 Post by Ron Hetherington »

I have the good fortune to be doing the California Mille next week. I will be in the 1936 Delahaye 135S competition belonging to Richard Procter of the UK. If you happen to see us at one of the stops please say hello. We can chat about 356s. BTW, can anyone give me any insight as to what to expect for weather?

Ron

You will be participating with my buddy Dick Mc Clure. He will be in his 51 356. You guys should have very nice weather. It is forcasted to be in the 70s with clear skies. Most of us 356ers in California will be attending North Meets South in San Luis Obispo. Have a great drive!

Jim, thank you very much. I do hope that the dry part of your forecast holds true. I am eager to see Dick McClure's car. You guys have fun in SLO.

Enjoy driving the Delahaye. Here are some photos of a Delahaye and a Bugatti from an air show in Domme, France last August. Seems both are driven regularly--no trailer queens that is for sure. No 356s either.

Looking forward to seeing the Delahaye, Ron.

I'll be there for the send-off party tomorrow. Should be the perfect day for it.

Just saw this tonight, I showed up at the end of the day. If I would have known, I would have chatted with you about 356s, there were some great ones in attendance...

How did this run in the event?

Yes, there were several great 356s. They all did very well I think. Sorry I missed you.

The 1936 Delahaye 135S competition ran great - she never missed a beat. The owner, Richard Procter, had her beautifully prepared.
