Made it down this afternoon(thursday). Temps are dropping quick. Already met up with 356 Registry member Alan Lay of New Orleans. Also, ran into my old neighbor from Atlantic Beach, Ross Bremer. Here's the campsite:

Dan,
Seems like I had a cord of wood in the coupe. (not really..) But it did weigh the car down nicely. Well this morning I woke up with ice on the car. Not sure if you can see it well in the pics. Even my chair had frost on it.

Jack & I are eating lunch, Brian Redman is about to give a discussion to the Milestone ticket particpants. We both will be doing 2 parade laps around the race track at noon tomorrow. Not sure if it will make the air or not. Either way it will be cool to see Jack rolling his 1953 on 16" wheels and bias ply tires. I will be posting pics tomorrow.

Hi Mark,
No firewood, but I do know about frost. Here's my coupe during the 2007 Western Weekend near Yosemite National Park.

Finally got access to wifi in the infield. So you will get a few more updates over the next couple of days. Here's a pic for Dale Moody...Dale, always asks for pictures of the registry members so I took one of Alan Lay of New Orleans at our campsite. I've already met or spoke to 6-7 members just in the last 24 hours.

Image

I also met Tony St. Angelo from central Mississippi. He has 6 356's, the oldest since 1971. He is not a member of the Registry but I was pushing the benefits of joining.

Here's a couple pics of the campsite this afternoon(Jacks 1953 Coupe):

Well, met some 356 owners from Idaho. There names are Lynn and Linda Beck. They are finishing the restoration of a '64 coupe. The coupe was European delivery for the original owner.(I have his name but it is at my campsite). They are 2nd owners. They believe it is a Carrera Coupe. I asked for the VIN & hope they can get me that info tomorrow. There is no 4 cam engine, evidence of oil lines, but they thought the tack goes to 9 or 10K. It supposidely also had leather interior. Here's a pic of Jack Stenner(on left) talking to them.

& pics of their pics...

I hope to have the VIN tomorrow to put the story straight. Anyone recognize the car?

Liked all the photo's.Must say I have never seen a 356 full of logs either. That makes it a rare photo. I can see now Mark you like to drive your car and not worry too much about cosmetics!

Hope you all had a good time in your sunshine state.

This great. Thanks for taking the time to post the updates and photos. It almost feels like I'm there. Might have to take the Panel to Fla to check this out for myself.

Just got home. My ears are still ringing. I have pics of Jack and I driving the track in our 356's. I'll post them later today. I'm gonna grab a beer and watch the end of the race from my couch.

Here's a few pics before the parade laps. This is in the blue garage area waiting to line the cars up. My '58 on left, Jack Stenners '53 on the right.

We did 3 laps. Approaching Nascar turn 1

Top speed for us during the parade was 65-70. The fastest segment was on the tri oval banking in front of pit road.

Yep, my car is far from ever being a trailer queen LOL. I still have some welding to do in the rear seat area. Thus, my interior is stripped out of the car. One day it'll have a nice interior, until then no worries.

The length of the road course was one of the first things I noticed years ago. Pretty sweet.

Near the Ferris wheel:

How about those 16" wheels & bias ply's? Jack left me in the dust a couple of times. His 1500cc vs my 912 engine.
