Birthday Barn find.........Yes!!!!

#1 Post by Robert Thiemrodt »

Ok, it's not a 356 but......….Brought home my new 1969 911E. on my Birthday yesterday. One owner car bought in 1969 driven until 1979, and parked in a barn ever since. Complete with log book of every oil change, valve adjustment, tune up, fuel up. Original sales brochures. Every service receipt. Only sad point was a 1971 Panorama classified page he kept. Some gentlemen was selling two, yes two speedsters with an asking price of $ 5,000 for BOTH!!!!!!!!

Some days are far better than others!!!!!!!!!! Loving it!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on both you birthday and the E. Hope you get it running soon, 911Es are about the best running F model 911 around. be careful with all the one year only stuff on that 69!

Wonderful!

You will have a ton of fun working on this car and if the 911 mechanicals are new to you, there is lots to be learned.

We found a ‘71T that had been off the road since ‘92, single family owned with all the paperwork from financing to wiper blades. Added bonus is that the previous owner was a SR71 pilot.

Best of luck to you on this project and Happy Birth Day.

What an incredible find and bargain! Happy Birthday and congratulations!

I hooked up this week with a friend of 46 years for the first time in a decade. He still has the '70 911T he bought new, in good running condition. I came very close to buying from him in 1973 (he decided not to sell).

Thanks to all on my find, and, my birthday wishes. What a board of great people. And yes, I did wash it. It's neat in its found state, however, at some point the grime and mouse turds must be eradicated.
The motor, tranny, and all mechanicals will be gone through and that's it. Everything else is getting cleaned and waxed and left the way it left Zuffenhausen.

With my birthday coming up in just a few weeks, I need to print out this thread and keep it on top of the magazine rack. Maybe you could casually call and share this with her at coffee time!

Great story, congrats!!
