Hah, I do the same thing, when the battery wears out I go buy a new one ( the strap and the battery seem to be on the same cycle, and at that point it’s time for a new one anyway).

I have a Rolex, but my 83 year old, sharp as a tack aunt is unimpressed. She calls it my rolodex watch!

I'm a bit late on this one, but been on the road. I had one initial thought when I saw the video.

Couldn't they have at least put the ignition on the left? :)

Actually, that's one of the few things they probably got right. All of the Speedster/Convertible D/Roadster switches were on the right. Which is why I'm always mixing up the locations of my Roadster and coupe switches. 8)

I stand corrected!! Even my boxster is on the left, which does mess me up with the truck, old Jag, old Infiniti, etc. The only one that it doesn't confuse me on is the '57 F-3 truck. Ignition key on the right, but the starter button is on the left! (Don't ask me how many times I've hit the starter button; gotten upset that it wouldn't start; only to remember the ignition wasn't on!! :)

I can’t figure out how to get the darn key in the slot no matter what side it’s on. I have to go find my reading glasses, then I can usually get it in in less than twenty minutes.

I never have been able to understand why the 356 kit car isn’t made from 100% Porsche 356 parts, available from Stoddard for example. I called them up one time and asked for a quote, told them I wanted to build a speedster from scratch. Told them I wanted to buy one of every part they made so I could build my own. They hung up on me. I still insist that someone could reproduce the 356 with mostly brand new 356 parts.

John L.,

For your "new" complete welded Speedster body, watch for further announcements from Mike at Restoration Design -- read this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=45999

Brad I just saw that too! I like the idea of having a brand new speedster.
