Changeover from clear Cad to yellow

#1 Post by Pete Archibald »

This question applies to a 1966 911, thus the off topic posting. We are restoring a fairly late 1966 911 with Weber carburetors. I know the factory had changed from clear Cad to yellow for some parts by 1965, but does anyone have definitive proof of the color of Weber linkage hardware for that timeframe?

Thanks,
Pete

I don't have the information you're seeking, but I think the changeover from clear to yellow might have been a little later than '65.

Here's just about the only original source I have, from a brochure printed March 1965:
Solex carbureted 911 engine
Solex carbureted 911 engine
The flat slam panel indicates this is a very early car--possibly a 901.

Pete, there is pretty much no cad on the early 911 cars except for a couple of spots. All clear and yellow zinc.
