I'm unable to resist responding to Jim Neil's entry in Al's want ad for a technician (above). As a retired HR guy Jim's post conjured up the resumes I used to receive almost daily from folks with more initials after their name than there are letters in the alphabet. I think if Jim added ASE or something like that his credentials he might achieve that overreach I used to be bemused by. While working at a large hospital in northern California we hired an unemployed lawyer to work in food service. Attorneys for the hospital, upon learning this, began sweating bullets over the dangers this hiring might bring. Not so much as to having a litigator in the bowels of the organization but for the supposed inability of a lawyer to cook edible food.

I smiled.
