i have been watching resale prices on 07 997 Carrera S's for the past 6 mos or so and they appear to be going up, e.g. held steady around mid 40's for the last 6 mos or so and now am seeing list prices in the mid 50's, anyone else notice this? thanks, robb gwaltney

The 997 is a terrific car so this is not surprising at all. If one can get into such a modern 911 for the mid 50's instead of 6 figures for a new one then the market will heat up.

My 996 is a great driving car (it's my winter car here in Michigan--Carrera 4 and all) but is not the best looking 911 out there. The 997 to me is the sweet spot of water cooled 911's so Robert i think what you are seeing is the realization of this by people getting sticker shock at the dealership.

A 996 C4 is a great car if cared for. Too bad I had to sell the one I owned to pay for a wedding.

Robert G:

On or about Jan 17, 2017 Flatsixes.com put a video link on their blog site discussing that very topic - 997 depreciation. Very interesting presentation by JP & Co! I've put a link below to their video from their Youtube site, or you can go to Flatsixes for it as well. I hope that it informs your thoughts on the matter.
Best,
