Long-time Porsche pusher Howard "Shoe" Shoemaker passed Jan 28 2017 at 85. I first met Shoe in 1970 shortly after VietNam. Buddy in Grand Island,NE bought a new 911 and joined the Great Plains Region of PCA. He asked me along to go to Omaha for one of the monthly dinner meetings. I met Shoe there, at the Bohemian Cafe. Here`s a couple momentos from Shoe. I had given him a ride in my Carrera GT Speedster back in the early 90s, had run into him at a party. Soon after that ride, he sent me the "GT Toilet" cartoon....as I call it. In that note, I think he was referring to Jim Perrin. Last time I saw him was in Omaha in 2012, he was checkin out my 58.......RIP Shoe

Other Shoe stuff ended up in Christo's over the years. Also, I vaguely remember a horizontal poster by Shoe raffled at Parades. He was certainly part of Porsche Lore over the years. RIP.

I remember his artwork well from the old Panorama's and Up-Fixen's.

Shoe designed the club badge and had them made in Germany. Authentic fired enamel cloisonne, solid brass. A beautiful piece of Shoe sculpture!
