Re: Devin D Porsche Race Car Project
Hi Kaz, do you use wheel spacers on your car? It looks like the rear tire will be very close to the top shock mount area at full compression. I see your car at Monterey very compressed so I imagine you have the answer.

Re: Devin D Porsche Race Car Project
cliff ---its very close --- however if you use the hoosier speedster tires it seemed to be ok if anything you will need a 1/4 in spacer thats it no more ---i assume you are running the short axles it is turning out great ---kaz

Re: Devin D Porsche Race Car Project
Yes, to the short axles. We have the shock bolts recessed in also to avoid cutting a tire.

He is very good to work with, very clever. Here is the pedal mount in progress with some welding to do yet.

Nice work, what brand and model of pedals are you using. How is gas pedal operating throttle/cable or rod?

Re: Devin D Porsche Race Car Project
Hi Michael, the pedals are Tilton 600 pedals which are available in a number of versions. The throttle actuates a cable that can go forward or to the rear and the ratio can be adjusted to suit any application. The clutch is hydraulic and many hotrod VWs are hydraulic so there are many suppliers of slave cylinders that can also be used on Porsche applications. The main reason to use these pedals is to be able to adjust the braking bias front to rear while driving.

Re: Devin D Porsche Race Car Project
I just installed another pedal assembly into the 356 racer also. The brake bias adjustment is the knob on the tunnel by the seat.

Re: Devin D Porsche Race Car Project
I was surprised to see the price paid for a Devin D Porsche at Sotheby's Amelia Island Auction. This makes me a little less nervous about spending money on mine.

Re: Devin D Porsche Race Car Project
I found some in car video of the Amelia Island car at a track day in Europe. It seems to run quite well.

Sorry, I couldn't get the direct link to work but it is the 3rd video on the list and you have to choose the type of video you can play.
