Lemans track in a Jaguar.(1956!)

#1 Post by Bob Watts »

Sorry if this is a repeat. Still a great ride!

Amazing five minute footage of the bygone era.
No seat belt, a bracket strapped to his chest for the mic and ordinary road
users around – including cyclists. What could possibly go wrong ?
thanks, Grant.

Unbelievable mic mount, a steel bar around his head, rigidly protruding from chest. I can't help but laugh when I see that crazy thing.

There are some crazy video's out there of drivers from this era ejected and walking (or limping or crawling) away, probably the lucky few.

More Jag stuff.

We drove for 30mins to the HSCC meeting at Silverstone yesterday. Got to park our car almost next to the inside of the track and wonder around the pit during the meet. Amazing considering the history of the place.

This C Type was just sitting in the paddock!

Plus a very nice RSR with Le Mans, TDF history. It won it's class on the w/e and will be raced at this year's CLM.

Paid a visit to the very nice Stowe House afterwards. Which is 10 mins drive from Silverstone Track
